Why Pecka
In one small corner of western Bosnia you'll find the karst springs of the river Sana, one of the country's finest climbing crags, the Korana canyon, forest roads for hiking and cycling, and a living rural community. Pecka Visitor Center — a former village school from 1931 — is your base for all of it: sleep here, eat here, ask for advice and head out on your adventure.

Our story
☀ Solar Pecka · 10 kWThe school in Gornja Pecka ran from 1931 to 1985, when it closed because there were no children left in the emptying village. In 2015 the same building opened its doors again — this time as Pecka Visitor Center.
Today part of the center's energy comes from a solar power plant backed by more than 226 people and organizations in a community campaign — a story of renewal that is still being written.
