Our story

How an abandoned school became the heart of the village again

The school in Gornja Pecka ran from 1931 to 1985, when it closed because there were no children left in the emptying village. In 2015 the same building opened its doors again — this time as Pecka Visitor Center.

Today part of the center's energy comes from a solar power plant backed by more than 226 people and organizations in a community campaign — a story of renewal that is still being written.
