Meet theneighbours

Someone brews. Someone presses. Someone ladles, spins and distils.

Pecka is not only nature — Pecka is its people. The same things that make this corner special: clean water, untouched meadows, flower-rich forests and patience that pays off nowhere else — go into what people here make by hand.

At the centre we help these small producers bring their goods out to guests. And you get the best possible souvenir: not a fridge magnet, but the taste of this place and the story behind it.

The producers of the neighbourhood

Five neighbours. Five things made here by hand.

Why local, and why here

When the water is first-category clean and the air is pure, everything else is better too — sweeter fruit, more fragrant honey, richer milk.

Pecka's producers work in small batches, without shortcuts and without needless additives, because they neither know nor want another way. This is not industry; it is craft and pride.

Buying from them, you do not just take a product home — you help the village live on, and this way of working with it.

Most of these you can taste and buy at Visitor Center Pecka, year-round. For some producers we are glad to connect you directly.

At the Šareni market

In summer and during the Pecka Outdoor Festival they all gather in one place with their best. One table, the whole neighbourhood.

Pecka Outdoor Festival

Take Pecka home

The finest souvenir is not a thing but a taste. It is the whole of Pecka to carry with you and share with the people back home. And when they are opened, the story of where they came from goes with them.

  • a bottle of Varcar
  • juice for the kids
  • a jar of honey
  • a piece of goat cheese
  • a small glass of rakija

Do you make something of your own?

If you make something in Pecka or nearby — food, drink, honey, cheese — we would be glad to add you to the neighbourhood. It keeps growing; we add people as they come forward.
